Mini is working again! Driving it makes me all kinda fuzzy :) pretty sure it needs an alignment but I’m just gonna send it at autox tomorrow
Also, SKF has did a dumb:
Remember that the locating screw for the brake disc i s to the counterclockwise direction of the nearest wheel bolt holes. How it should be (old bearing):
Yes, it should be on the clockwise side...
I’m just gonna claim weight reduction now...

Every time I see a Mini I want a slammed, clapped out, turbo boosted go kart of a Mini. Preferably one I can fit in the 250.

Superchargers > Turbos
Fight me

Roots or centri? Minis are inline 4 so it would have to be a centrifugal. I'm curious why big ass diesels use turbos instead of super chargers. Is it because they have insane exhaust gas flow the power a turbo efficiently and by design have gobs of torque already?

Roots baby! Centris just dont sound so good.
Mine has a Roots from factory btw. If you put a TVS in there with pistons and rods, it will make 320whp.
I think since diesels can run much higher cylinder pressures, it makes sense to utilize a turbo and capture all that exhaust energy.

Thats just bonkers and I love it.

Superchargers dont make any more torque then turbos, they can just create boost at lower rpm traditionally . Superchargers create more iat and require horsepower to operate(for example the gt500's supercharger takes 50hp to make its extra 250hp for the engine)
Heat is a big factor in turbo spooling, diesels create quite a bit of egt. I’m guessing turbos also are used because the ability to create massive amounts of positive pressure that isnt mechanically tied to rpm.
2 stroke diesels have used superchargers though
